Serenity Sunday

My daughter's fave car

Licence to Drive (me crazy!)

Yup, my daughter passed her driving test two weeks and got her ‘Official licence’ this week (too busy to collect the licence), hence, been pestering me for a ‘hands-on’ my car. Finally she got the feel of the car one evening. I was like sitting next to her pondering to comment or not to comment. Don’t wanna sound like an ole nagging lady but..coz to me, I’m like talk/tell, to her, it's like scold/nag. Haiz.. Then she voiced, ‘Mum, I didn’t passed the test for nothing okay?. Just let me drive peacefully..’.Okay, okay. Anyway, it was only for a short distance before I took over the steering again. Hehe.

We went ronda-ronda again yesterday, and will again later today. So, anyone of you all out there sensing a silver four-wheeled car with ‘P’ sticker coming about, please make way for us. My convenience is your convenience. Gracious amigo.

Serenity Sunday

Sempervivum "Hopewell"
(common name : House Leeks)
A Brightly colored hybrid alpine groundcover succulent.

I've chosen this cacti plant to describe my heartfelt for the week.

Fear Factor?

Hi ya all, welcoming myself back from Macau. The weather there is terribly hot. Even wind blowing-by are warm. And mind you, it’s regardless of day or night. Hot, hot, hot. My fren mentioned relaxing at the hotel’s sauna should our schedule permits. But after a day there, I said no thanks. I’m experiencing ‘sauna’ all day long just being in the city itself.

Well, actually I was back on Monday. But it was a stressful week for me though for these past few days. Why?? just the next day after touchdown back in KL, I was ‘taken down’ by cough and sore throat. Then followed by mild cold (sounds familiar to the symptoms of …). OMG! what was I to think but...help!! doctor please!?!?. Though the symptoms are not constant, but my last straw was some chest pain. So without further delay, I went to the docs on Thursday for assurance or insurance, whatever.

The nurse called my name, and I entered the consultation room. Before sitting down, I looked at the doctor and told him that I’m here on an assumption of contracting H1N1?. The doctor gave me greeted me with an assuring look and told me have a sit first. Then he asked, “why? what happen?”. I told him that I’ve just visited Macau, then the cough, and the sore throat, and the cold thingy (the progress symptoms, as I called them). The kind doctor said not to worry first and proceed to his routine check. Anyway, after checking for signs of fever, taking my pressure, and checking my breath sound with his stethoscope, he said that I should have nothing to worry about. The cold and cough could be due to the change climate from travelling , and my chest pain, apparently is due to stress from wherever. Phew! What a relief to hear what’s been said by a professional. Thanks Doc.

And so, I left the place with some “Stress Relief Tablets” to be taken before sleep. Ahhhh… zzz’s………..

Serenity Sunday

Hopefully our family photos will turn out as
colourful as these flowers above.

Family Week ~ Dine & Snap away

It's really been fun and enjoyable throughout this week. My aunt Laureen from Seremban came up and stayed at my sis's place. Till when? I don't know..? anyway, cos since my uncle will be away for the next 40 days to Australia, she took the opportunity to 'break-out' (as she claims) to rest & relax.

She started her venture with us last Sunday. We called our aunt and cousins, Ian and Eric, over and had a home cooked dinner gathering on Tuesday. Though too bad Eric couldn't make it (work commitments) haiz,. but still we make the best of everything. After dinner we sort of took some family photos at my sis's 'self-made-studio' on the first floor of her house. Camera on tripod stand, a long couch in-front, wow, lighting somemore..macam-aje. Pretty nifty.

My family had dinner at my sis's place for the following Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Having dinner with my aunt Laureen is never a-time of bore. She can just say or randomly ask something that will awestuck us, catching us in the moment (and quite often too). Come Saturday, it's dinner gathering again! This time around, not only could Eric make it, but even aunt Laureen's son, my cousin, Adrian and his girlfriend drove up from Singapore to visit too. Had dinner at Yolek, a vegetarian restaurant in OUG. Everyone was pleased with the food. After dinner, we headed back to sis's place for more snapshots again.(ya ya i know what you all are thinking, so....FYI, my aunt Laureen just luv having her pictures taken). Ian and Eric left at 'bout 10 something, but we stayed on for more chats till 'bout midnite.

Well, Sunday is here...definately meeting up for dinner tonite, but where? Till time comes...But whatever it is, i guess i can speak for the rest of the family members that we indeed enjoyed the whole week. xxx Peace.

N G V...the saga continues

Totally not my intention to be M.I.A. and cramping all four days posting into one, but this ‘business’ with the NGV thing is really stressing my life out. Sharing transport running errands, going to the workshop for situation update, argh…, really time consuming. Haiz, anyway, here’s brief summary of my ‘NGV adventure’…

Monday - foreman called at about 6.45pm, “mam, sekarang macam ini (I was like oh no, new problem discovered with my car again), kereta sudah ok (phew!), baik dari hari itu SIKIT, boleh naik slope. Tapi kalau nak betul baik tu, saya suggest you tukar sequential system, he said. Without any expression, I replied, “I’ll try out the car first tomorrow.” Both agreeing to that.

Tuesday – tested the car. Start, drive away from the shop to the end row only the car ‘mati’. After attempts of pressing here and there, ram ram the accelerator pedal abit, continue driving. Making my way to the slope, I find the ‘power’ is almost the same. Head back to workshop I told the man, “pretty much the same to me-lah.” Then I called his boss, voicing my unsatisfactory, the boss say he will sincerely look into the matter. You know what, even before I turn to take leave, the boss came, kept apologising. So after much discussion, I relented by giving the sequential system a shot.

Thursday – foreman called saying that my car is ready, and also they finally found the culprit for the loss of car-power issue. It’s the ‘Distributor mechanism’. Phew!, alas. Suppose to pick-up my car that evening, but I told them I’ll pick it up tomorrow instead (actually quite scare too, incase halfway after got problem, and night time too).

Friday – picked-up my car in the afternoon finally. Test there a few around seems okay to me. So alas, I drove my car back to the office. Come 6pm heading back home…caught-up in our ‘Malaysian jam’. Car engine still running (in case you’re wondering). Crawling, crawling, crawling, cra…wait.. why the tachometer suddenly like fluctuating one. OMG! in mid-jam, cars pack left-right, front-back, it’s a nightmare..OMG! this couldn’t be happening to me..not now atleast. Called the foreman, ah luckily he’s still there. He said don’t worry the engine won’t ‘die-off’ one. So it’s like between him and me, we’re still on the phone monitoring the tachometer status. I even turn-off the air-cond (though no effect on engine performance, just psychological effect). Foreman said to bring in the car tomorrow for tuning abit. Okay fair for me.
Thank god, made it thru and back home safe.

Conclusion, so far so good after my Saturday’s visit to the workshop for ‘a minor tuning’ (so they say). And that’s a week ago since. Hopefully, no more of such nerve breaking, mental anguish ‘Adventure’ for me again.
Hence, before I post-out, FYI, beside the mental stuffs thingy, nowadays filling the car with Natural Gas really DOESN’T burn a hole in my pocket anymore. So if you people out there who are up for the ‘Formula GAS’ challenge, GO FOR IT!

N G V

NGV. Natural Gas Vehicle? or N.ot G.reatly V.alued? Sent my car in for NGV convertion on Tuesday. The foreman said will be ready by Wednesday evening. Waited for their call but none (since i wasn't free too, didn't mind collecting it on Thursday). Called them on Thursday afternoon, the foreman said that they are testing it for some tuning purpose - whatever. Anyway, I did 'spot check' them on Thursday itself. The boss was there. Seeing that my car's boot has 'sunken' abit by the weigth of the gas cylinder, he offered to place some spring thingi to support it atleast. Said can collected that evening (again). Come evening, waited till 'bout 8.30pm, I gave them a call, again..."still tuning-lah mam.. sebab kereta punya system elektronik punya, payah sikit", said the foreman. OK..OK. Come Friday morning the boss himself called me. Well, according to him, upon wanting to put in the spring thingi, they saw the car's absorber has given way (foreman's term is 'sudah pecah'), so ask me whether i wanna change or not. I ask the price and all etc, etc. Ok, decided to change as well. Great! After change absorber, place the spring thingi, collect car, on the move. You think-so?

Anyway, visited the workshop later on Friday, they still say got some tuning problem to attend to..not that perrrfect yet. So I asked, can test drive? they said can. Took the car for a short drive. Upon reaching a slope... ahah! cannot finish naik the slope!! OMG! (the slope distance is bout 2 meters, another 2 feet more i will be on 'safe zone', but NO!! cannot fulfil it). Also, the engine keep dying....

I tell them like that cannot. Dangerous and difficult. Foreman said, he also headache why like that, but will really investigate why and solve the problem, do 'nice-nice' for me. I said better do so.

Suppose to rectify matters and hand back the car to me by that night, cos Saturday public holiday and Sunday closed. But again(yes, your guess is right), that didn't happen too. SO...come Monday tomorrow..see what happens. Haiz!
